Aid for Kids would like to say thank-you to Tim Younes for his volunteer work of setting up and launching the first Summer Camp for the children that are benefiting from the annual Aid for Kids Education Project.

Time: Summer 2014

Place: Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam

Volunteers: Tim Younes, Giang Vo

During the program, Grade 8 students in Cam Ranh performed well in classes of intensive English learning, which featured practical topics including: American and European cultures, famous places to visit, conversations in public places (e.g. restaurant, street, etc.), power of dream, importance of education, and early career orientation. Learning activities were held in group, and there were gifts for most excellent groups of each day. Lunch meals were offered to the students everyday.

Besides English classes, the students quickly learnt and knew how to use iOS-running Apple laptops, however, Microsoft’s window system is very popular all over Vietnam and people think it’s more practical and accessible for Vietnamese children to learn.

On the last day of the program, all of the students and teaching assistants were rewarded a field trip at 100-egg Mud Bath Tourism Site, certificates of accomplishment and gifts. Together, they made a nice video clip for Aid for Kids. Here it is, enjoy!
