2016 Student Sponsorship (On-going)
10 scholarships, worth VND500,000 each, are awarded to most difficult students of Aid for Kids Education Center, on the occasion of Aid for Kids partnering with Cam Lam education department to improve local students’ English skills together.
Aid for Kids Education Center was established because many of the children in the nearby villages are not equipped to share in economic success of this rapidly developing tourism area. They need English skills, so that we are providing that education. With this training, these young children can have a very bright future. Without it, they will continue to struggle to eke out a meager existence.
20 scholarships, worth VND 500,000 each, are awarded to the students in most difficulty from June 1st Primary School on the last day of school year 2015-2016. The school will help keep the scholarships to buy books, uniforms and learning kits for the students in the up-coming school year.
June 1st School is the only school in District 4 that offers free elementary education from 1st – 5th grade. District 4 has a population of about 200,000. The June 1st school provides needed education to 200 disadvantaged children, whose families have financial difficulties that their kids live in the streets and have to do labor work. With the scholarships, these students can stay in school rather than collecting scrap and plastic bottles for recycling factories; packing goods at wet markets and other forms of menial labor.
