10th Anniversary Celebration to Benefit Aid for Kids
and a Celebration of National Adoption Month
Featuring the Music of John Lennon
PORTLAND, Maine - A Celebration of Adoption to Benefit Aid for Kids will be held on Saturday, November 7 at 4:30-7:00pm at the Woodford’s Club in Portland, Maine. The evening will feature award winning jazz musicians Ron Aprea and Angela DiNiro from New York City who have played with John Lennon and who have created a tribute CD in honor of his 75th birthday. Special guest performers include Grammy award winning pianist Paul Sullivan and Robbie and Maggie Coffin - and a surprise performer. The Pihcintu Multinational Girl’s Chorus founded and directed by Paul Conway Fullum will also be featured. Proceeds from sales of the jazz CD will go to benefit Aid for Kids Maine Program – The “Other Maine” Project. Our host is Dawn Degenhardt, Founder of Aid for Kids, who has helped place thousands of kids for adoption and has helped countless children around the world with humanitarian aid projects.
Adoptive families and adoption staff are invited to the family reunion to renew old friendships and share their stories. Joy Degenhardt, Program Director for Vietnam will be bringing a delegation from Vietnam. Mercy Marchuk, former Program Manager for Russia, Jenny Mills, former Program Manager for India, Minal Dani former Manager in India and many others plan to attend.
